On the evening of Thursday 28 December, the Scaligero Castle in Sirmione was lit up in red to celebrate the passage of the Giro d’Italia Women 2024, welcoming the regional councilor for Tourism, Fashion and Territorial Marketing, Barbara Mazzali.
The color red warmed the walls, reflecting in the waters of Lake Garda to also tell the story of the partnership with Scarpetta Rossa, an association on the front line to combat the social scourge of violence against women.
The lighting of the symbolic monuments of the stage cities is a project conceived by RCS Sport in collaboration with the Tourism Department of the Lombardy Region, created to raise public awareness even more, while enhancing the excellence and beauty of the places where it comes to life.
The appointment with the start of the second stage of the women’s Giro d’Italia is set from Sirmione for 8 July 2024.
