You probably won’t be able to do many of the activities around Lake Garda that would normally keep you busy, but you don’t necessarily have to lock yourself in your hotel or flat.

Explore under the sea: Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium
The Sea Life Aquarium in Castelnuovo del Garda can be visited with a separate ticket and entrance to Gardaland. It is a gigantic interactive aquarium where it is possible to admire over 5,000 aquatic creatures through portholes and child-sized domes.
With 40 themed tanks, the park allows you to literally walk among sharks thanks to an amazing transparent ocean tunnel and, in the interactive tank, to touch a real shark egg. In the cinema room you can watch interesting documentaries, or you can enjoy lunch or a snack at the Captain’s Lair.
Medieval Times: a medieval indoor dinner-show
Why not enjoy an evening’s entertainment at the court of King Astolfo? During the tournament four knights compete to decide who will win the hand of the beautiful Princess Esmeralda: at Medieval Times in Fossalta di Lazise it is possible to participate in a themed dinner party that takes place in an indoor arena, an equestrian field with huge bleachers divided into four sectors of different colours and a medieval setting.
Put on your crown and take your seat, then cheer on the knight of your colour while enjoying a delicious medieval feast.
Reptiland: the Natural Science Gallery and Herpetological Centre in Riva del Garda
Reptiland can be found opposite the MAG in Riva del Garda. It is a natural science gallery and herpetological centre housing a living collection of poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, spiders and insects, including some of the most beautiful butterflies in existence.
Wandering around the display cases, children and adults can learn about these curious species from all over the world and enjoy this “lost world”, which can also be explored on a guided tour (booking required) with experts.
Muse in Trento, having fun at the science museum
The city of Trento’s Science Museum is a Trentino cultural centre dedicated to science and it is particularly suitable for children and families. It offers an experience that is not only educational but also fun: it has spaces and routes that develop various scientific themes, from dinosaurs to the composition of glaciers, and is distributed over six floors and a terrace.
Inside the Muse you can take part in workshops to try out the science for yourself, and there is also Maxi Ooh!, an area designed for children aged 0 to 5.
The Children’s Museum in Verona, science and STEAM
This is the first children’s museum in north-eastern Italy: the aim of its founders was to set up a Children’s Museum in Verona, where children from 0 to 12 years of age can enjoy visual, sensorial, playful and emotional experiences to learn about the world and explore everything related to the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) theme.
The museum is divided into many “zones” including the ThinkLab, a space for manual workshops, the 0-3 zone for very young children and “Mungi la Mucca” (milk the cow), to find out where milk and cheese come from.
