“Open my heart and you will see, ‘graved inside of it, Italy”

Robert Browning

Steve McCurry photographed the  most famous and intense gaze in the history of photography, the “Afghan Girl” on the cover of National Geographic in 1984.

The famous photographer, who keeps dozens of wonderful shots of Italy and those who live in his portfolio, paid tribute to Italy with a series of photographs that aims to capture its spirit, traditions and beauty.

Steve McCurry pays homage to Italy with his shots: “It’s a dream that comes back for a lifetime

I am close to the Italian people. You are always in my heart. During the global challenge at Covid-19, the Italians showed selflessness and courage in facing an unimaginable tragedy“.

McCurry’s images are interspersed with quotes that testify to the 69-year-old American photographer’s love for Italy.

Living well and fully: this is the life philosophy of the Italians – says McCurry -. And the joy of living has not abandoned them even in this period
