Thanks to Google Arts & Culture we can visit the Vittoriale degli Italiani from the D’Annunzio’s house until the wonderful Vittoriale park.
Gabriele d’Annunzio was born in Pescara on March 12, 1863 and spent his childhood there until the age of eleven when, to continue his studies, he moved to Prato.
After the First World War, tragically ended the experience of Fiume, Gabriele d’Annunzio in January 1921 is looking for a new home in a quiet place, on the lake, where he can retire. He moved to Gardone Riviera, on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda where, with the help of the architect Giancarlo Maroni, he built the monumental citadel, the Vittoriale degli Italiani, a complex of buildings, streets, squares, an open-air theater, gardens and streams.
Also the Museo Casa Natale di Gabriele D’Annunzio (Birthplace of Gabriele D’Annunzio Museum) in Pescara, opens its doors to visit the Gabriele d’Annunzio native house
