PIETRA&CO.2025
IDENTITÀ NEL RUMORE E NEL SILENZIO
Public art in Sirmione
(from Punta Grò to the Grotte di Catullo)
June – October 2025

Opening: Thursday 5 June 2025

PIETRA&CO. is an exhibition curated by the Consorzio Marmisti Bresciani in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione, which was born thanks to the artist and curator Lillo Marciano and has been renewed since 2007 with annual editions of public art and various initiatives promoted on the Via del Marmo. The Consorzio Marmisti Bresciani has always embodied the face and soul of the world of Brescian stone, promoting the development of its qualitative excellence and enhancing its historical and cultural heritage, as an authentic identity of our territory. It represents the Brescia stone sector, combining its most active identity, in the noise, of the production chain, with the distinctive artistic identity that survives, in silence, the changes imposed by time.
The collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione has been renewed for years to present these identities in a consolidated itinerary, rich in places with timeless historical, archaeological, cultural and landscape value, whose charm, preserved in monuments and enchanting panoramas, echoes beyond time and borders.

In Sirmione some places are protagonists, which meet and pass through following a traditional itinerary and participated in by the great crowd of tourists. Places that, in the noise, are able to pass on their memory after each trip and from which it is no longer possible to truly leave, because a part of them is deposited in the visitors. Others are new places, which, in silence, take up space, indifferent to everything and suspend the usual routes to encourage new glimpses, listening to what separates the self from the world. Pietra&Co. 2025IDENTITÀ NEL RUMORE E NEL SILENZIO (Identity in noise and silence) is a tribute to the dialogue between the identities of the Consortium and the places of Sirmione and was also realized thanks to the collaboration with the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Lombardy, the institute of the Ministry of Culture that manages – together with 13 other museums – the archaeological area of the Grotte di Catullo and the Scaligero Castle in Sirmione. The project proposes a new itinerary, which reconfirms the route from Punta Grò to the Grotte di Catullo, but alternates narrations in closed spaces, such as the splendid setting of the Villa Cortine Palace Hotel, and open-air spaces, bringing visitors closer to marble sculptures, monumental installations, site-specific projects, photography, video art, musical events and performances, expressions of an art that becomes an opportunity for meeting, inclusion and participation, outside of traditional exhibition spaces, on beaches, walks, parks, gardens, libraries, churches, hotels, restaurants, historical and archaeological sites.

The artists participating in this edition, stone sculptors, contemporary monumental artists and creativity linked to the emerging worlds of digital art and performative languages, in addition to proposing an inclusive experience outside of traditional exhibition spaces, offer the public a path in which art and environment interpenetrate and immerse the public in a creativity that allows them to identify and orient themselves in the place itself.
