Sirmione lights up with snapshots: over 200 photographers at the Photo Marathon
Many new faces and young protagonists on Sunday, October 11. The Sirmione Photography Award continues with the Lake Garda Photo Challenge, open until October 31
Sunday, October 11, Sirmione once again turned into a large open-air photo set. More than 200 participants took part in the Sirmione Photo Marathon, exploring the village and its corners in search of the right image.
Four themes were proposed, all tributes to great classics of cinema, assigned at two points during the day:
- Ore 10:00: “Vacanze Romane” e “La Dolce Vita”
- Ore 14:00: “La Finestra sul Cortile” e “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”
Each theme came with additional clues, designed to guide the photographers’ eye and steer their search for the right frame.
Alongside the regulars, who never miss the event, there were many new faces, and a significant presence of young people, many of whom began their journey with the last Teens Photo Marathon and chose to come back, putting themselves to the test in this new edition as well.
New this year: photographers had until 8:00 PM to develop the themes assigned in the afternoon, with more room to look for the right framing, return to locations and work with the light of the sunset.

Lake Garda Photo Challenge, the photography contest dedicated to Sirmione and Lake Garda.

In addition to the two main themes, “Sirmione” and “Lake Garda“, there are two more themes: “Margins” and the new “In the Dead of Night: when the light withdraws, the dark does not erase: it reveals“.
