Summer regulations for the ZTL from March to October 2026

Published on : 27 March 2026

The tourist season is upon us, and Sirmione is ready to welcome tourists and visitors to enjoy its beauty, hospitality, and services.

The Municipal Administration has always been committed to implementing targeted interventions to enhance the area and identify solutions that improve the livability and usability of spaces for residents and guests. To pursue these objectives, the summer ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) regulation and a pedestrianization schedule are in effect from March 23 to October 13, 2026.

These measures are part of a series of actions aimed at reducing the mix of vehicular and pedestrian traffic that makes the historic center difficult to live in, especially on certain days and at certain times of day.

To access the ZTL the vehicle must be previously authorized and the license plate data must be entered into the control system.

Pedestrianization days:

A 31-day pedestrian zone is planned, with traffic prohibited for all vehicles from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on the following days:

April: 4, 5, 6, 24, 25, 26
May: 1, 2, 3, 30, 31
June: 1, 2, 7, 14, 21, 28
July: 5, 12, 19, 26

September: 6, 13, 20, 27

  • Exceptions

Golf carts (Grifo Parking), emergency vehicles, residents only exiting for emergencies

  • Organization and Safety

During the pedestrian zone, an experimental mandatory pedestrian path is active in Largo Goethe. Entrance to the historic center.
A local police patrol, two support operators, security guards, and street tutors are constantly present.

Priority Access Pass

The Municipality of Sirmione has introduced a priority access pass system for the historic center. The aim is to improve the management of tourist flows, particularly during peak periods, while also contributing to an overall increase in safety. The initiative also aims to make the historic center more livable and accessible for both residents and visitors, promoting a more orderly and pleasant experience.

The pass allows certain authorized categories to access the historic center more quickly, avoiding queues and restrictions during peak periods.

The application and usage procedures are defined by the Municipality and are primarily intended for

  • residents
  • economic operators
  • authorized subjects
