Lake Garda has made its mark on the big screen and won an international award. Ride Back to Faith — a documentary film by Hermann Weiskopf that premiered in Italy in Sirmione—was named Best Tourism Documentary Film at the Bosnia and Herzegovina Tourism Film Festival.

The film chronicles a Vespa journey from Innsbruck to Rome during the Jubilee Year. The route, which takes in iconic locations across Austria and Italy, passes through Lake Garda and Sirmione, following the footsteps of Blessed Benedetta Bianchi Porro.

Audiences in Sirmione had the opportunity to watch the film on September 6th at Punta Grò during a special screening as part of the “Films on the Beach” series.

The award in Sarajevo honors a film—produced with the support of the Municipality of Sirmione—that successfully showcases the region through a personal journey, while also bringing fresh visibility to Lake Garda within the realm of tourism-focused cinema.

The director expressed his satisfaction and gratitude in a recent post.
