Palace of Versailles, is located about 20 km from Paris, it is one of the most beautiful architecture in Europe, built between 1631 and 1634, and has inspired other great royal residences such as the Royal Palace of Caserta.
Wanted by King Sun, Louis XIV of Bourbon, the palace was also a clever political device, a pretext for the monarch to control the aristocracy.

With Google Arts & Culture we can imagine the frivolous and luxurious life of the various monarchs who lived into the Palace of Versailles with a virtual visit of its interior and its wonderful and immense garden.
The Royal Palace is closed inside a 40 km long wall along which 26 monumental doors open.
It comprises 364 rooms in the south and north wings, while in the center there are the royal apartments, offices and ballrooms.
One of the most spectacular and famous rooms in the palace is the gallery of mirrors, where every large window overlooking the garden has an arch of mirrors on the opposite wall.

A wonderful and enchanting place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, which is visited by millions of tourists every year.

We talked about another famous residence of a reigning family, the Venaria Reale a Versailles in Torino.
