An extraordinary concert in the wonderful Spiaggia delle Muse closes the Garda Lake Music Festival events in Sirmione.
The prestigious I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra will take the audience on a journey to the notes of famous compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Founded on 27st November 1945 at the Teatro Nuovo in Milan by Remigio Paone and Ferdinando Ballo, I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra immediately conquered the public with a repertoire ranging from Baroque to early Romanticism, including much modern and contemporary music. Illustrious composers such as Honegger and Penderecki conducted the orchestra, which launched many young artists. Among the main conductors we remember Sanzogno, Gelmetti, Gatti and Manacorda. As of 2020, James Feddeck is principal conductor and Alessandro Cadario principal guest conductor.
Nicolò Jacopo Suppa, great-grandson of the soprano Margherita Rinaldi and nephew of the bassoonist Virginio Bianchi, graduated in viola, composition and conducting. He studied violin, piano and opera singing. Assistant to Maestro Daniele Gatti at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, he specialized at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, conducting the final concert broadcast on Rai5. Awarded in international competitions, he has conducted orchestras such as the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Orchestra Fondazione Arena di Verona, the Orchestra della Toscana and I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano. Soon, he will conduct the Orchestra Fondazione Arena di Verona, I Pomeriggi Musicali, Toscana Classica, the Orchestra Sinfonica del Molise and will make his debut with the Orchestra of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.
