The great poplar of Sirmione shines again

The technical staff has successfully completed the delicate maintenance work on the majestic black poplar of Belvedere Pertini. This precious operation, essential to guarantee the safety and health of the tree, was carried out with the utmost care, following the instructions of forestry doctor Emanuela Lombardi.

With its 26 meters of height and a crown of 23 meters, the poplar, exposed to the gusts of wind that cross the peninsula, needed careful pruning. A team of experts, including free climbers and operators on aerial platforms, reduced the weight of its structure, allowing the large tree to continue to reign majestically over the lake.

Now, the poplar is ready to resume its role as guardian of the coast, welcoming nests and birds among its branches, and letting itself be lulled by the sound of the waves.
