4 people saved from drowning: Sirmione thanks
Mayor Luisa Lavelli awarded 7 commendations to the rescuers who were the protagonists of rescues in the lake waters
During the City Council of August 28, the Sirmione City Administration delivered 7 commendations to as many people who in the last Sirmione summers have distinguished themselves for rescue operations in the waters of the lake that surround the peninsula.
The rescuers Nicole Dolcera, Arnaldo Mari, Corrado Canovai, Michele Mescolini, Davide Cattaneo, Mattias Banfi and Cinzia Toschi aboard boats of the Civil Protection and the Coast Guard, with their work and their courage have saved the lives of 4 people during three interventions that took place on July 24, 2022, June 16 and August 11, 2024.
These praiseworthy heroic acts, precious for the entire community, have been recognized and appreciated by the City Administration which has delivered an official commendation to each of these people. The Mayor of Sirmione, Luisa Lavelli expressed “a heartfelt thanks to those who did not hesitate to make themselves available to save the lives of others […]”: Civil Protection volunteers and ordinary citizens who were able to be true Guardians of the city’s safety through decisive rescue and assistance actions. The promptness, courage and altruism with which they faced emergency situations were an example for the entire community.
A special thanks went to all the Police Forces, Red Cross, Local Police, Civil Protection coordinated by the Coast Guard and committed to ensuring the safety of our lake and to informing about the best practices to be implemented to better enjoy our waters.
