1000 Miglia is back

Elegance, history and engines parade in front of the Scaligero Castle

SATURDAY 15TH JUNE 2024, FROM 9:30 AM

Normally the Most Beautiful Race in the World reaches Sirmione a few kilometers after the departure from Brescia: the cars and crews are fresh and ready to face the special tests that outline the first classification. This year, as rarely happens, the route has been designed in the opposite direction: the cars will arrive in Sirmione at the end of the race, after 5 days of demanding competition.

Whatever time they cross their path, the one between 1000 Miglia race and Sirmione is an inseparable bond. The Rocca Scaligera and the ancient village are the ideal setting to welcome and refresh the drivers: the beauty of Sirmione provides the perfect reward after the fatigue of a race that puts hearts and engines to the test.

As anticipated, the transit of the 1000 Miglia race to Sirmione is scheduled on the last day of the race, Saturday, June 15th.

The cars will arrive from Peschiera del Garda, drive along Via Colombare, Via XXV Aprile, Viale Marconi and arrive in Piazzale Porto in front of the Scaligero Castle for the stamp control and the turnaround.

The cars will drive along lungolago Diaz to Piazzale Europa and then, again, via XXV Aprile, via Colombare to Piazza Unità d’Italia, finally heading to Desenzano del Garda.

The first car is scheduled to arrive at about 9:30 a.m. with the Ferrari Tribute to 1000 Miglia, the parade of sports cars that anticipates the passage of the historic cars in the race, while the first historic car will arrive at about 11:00 a.m. (the passage of the last car is scheduled around 2:30 p.m.)

Traffic modifications:
The entire area of Piazzale Porto and lungolago Diaz up to the height of Piazzale Europa will be completely at the disposal of the event, from the night of June 14th to the late afternoon of Saturday, June 15th.
Via Todeschino will not be passable toward Piazza Unità d’Italia starting from Via Alfieri to avoid insertion into the flow of cars in the race.
No other closures are planned.
