On the evening of December 3, 1926, Agatha Christie left her home in Berkshire, England, and vanished without a trace for 11 days. Her disappearance sparked a nationwide search and a media frenzy. The famous writer was finally found at the Swan Hydropathic spa Hotel in Harrogate. Agatha Christie’s disappearance in 1926 is still a topic of fascination among fans and scholars of her work. Despite the various theories and speculations, the true reasons behind her disappearance remain a mystery, as she never fully explained her actions during that time.
During the meeting of the English café we will discuss the case starting from the article published by the Guardian, taken from the book A Very Elusive Woman by Lucy Worsley.
Agatha Christie was found in a famous spa hotel… to recreate the atmosphere and give the participants an extra suggestion, we decided to hold the meeting in a beautiful hotel in the historic center of Sirmione; The English Cafè will gather on October 12th at 8:00 pm, at the Hotel Meridiana in via Catullo 5, Sirmione.
Even if you didn’t attend the previous meetings, you can step in any time you want.

- The English Cafè, on even months, where to more freely talk about books we’d like to read, share, propose. The English Cafè, as the name suggests, will not take place in the Public Library, but in a more informal venue, namely a pub, bar, hotel or vinery in Sirmione. The designated place will be announced each time.
