Punta Grò: a necessary intervention for the safety and protection of the territory
A fundamental prevention intervention for the safety of citizens and tourists
At Punta Grò, a preventative intervention is underway, crucial to the safety of residents and tourists: the removal of approximately one hundred poplar trees that have reached the end of their life cycle and are showing serious structural issues.
The intervention stems from an in-depth technical assessment commissioned by the Municipality, which highlighted instability and internal decay in numerous trees, posing a concrete risk to public safety.
The assessments were conducted with specialized tools such as resistographs, to identify even damage that is not externally visible.
Only the trees that are truly compromised will be removed, with full respect for the environment and the utmost attention to the landscape.
In their place, new trees will be planted: poplars, willows, oaks, plane trees, and maples, to ensure the continuity of the greenery and the enhancement of the park for years to come.
The same methodological approach will also be used to prune the dead trees in San Vito Park.
We know how much these trees are an integral part of the local memory and identity, but caring for our tree heritage also means knowing how to intervene, when necessary, to prevent dangerous situations and ensure a sustainable and safe future for our land.
