12 months of exciting challenges for photography enthusiasts and experts, tourists and all lovers of Lake Garda.
15 years in the name of photography, a unique heritage of 11,636 shots that tell the story of Sirmione and Lake Garda, 3,236 participating photographers from all over the world.
These are the numbers of the Sirmione Award for Photography that tell of a success built over time and consolidated year after year.
A success that demonstrates how Sirmione and Photography are now inextricably linked by an “invisible” and very solid thread at the same time.
The Award lasts 12 months and is able to unite, thanks to the same passion, amateurs, great professionals, tourists and the curious, embracing the entire Garda basin, a plus that few local cultural initiatives are able to boast.

SIRMIONE PHOTO RESIDENCY

The selected photographer will spend a two-week photographic residency on Lake Garda to carry out your photographic project in complete freedom, with the guidance of two international photography experts
LAKE GARDA BLOCK NOTES PHOTO CONTEST

4 weeks/4 themes
The Block Notes Photo Contest is a free online photography competition divided into four weekly sessions from Monday to Sunday
Each photographer can take part with a photograph for each week, to be sent before 11:59 pm on Sunday.
TOPIC and Calendar:
ANGER from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th April 2024
FEAR from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st April 2024
COURAGE from Monday 22nd to Sunday 28th April 2024
JOY from Monday 29th April to Sunday 5th May 2024
For each of the four weeks each participant will submit a photograph referring to a specific emotion: anger, fear, courage, joy.
The photographer will be able to describe these emotions without subject constraints through the images that they deem the most appropriate (people, spaces, objects, animals, shapes, colors, situations, etc.).
Photographs can be taken anywhere; they don’t need to be related to Sirmione or Lake Garda.
Every week the Jury will evaluate the individual photographs, then, at the end of the four weeks, the sequence of all four images will be evaluated.
WEEKLY PRIZES
2 entrances with exclusive guided tour for 2 people “Discovering the secrets and secret places of the Grottoes of Catullus“.
2 entrances for 2 people to the Scaligero Castle.
FINAL PRIZE (for those who participated in all 4 weeks of the competition)
A stay in Sirmione for two people (2 nights and breakfast)
SIRMIONE 10% PHOTO MARATHON
7th JULY
Just one hour to take a photo that will complete the exhibition dedicated to the Sirmione Award for Photography 2023, open at the Palazzo Callas Exhibition.
Appointment at 7:00 am in Piazza Carducci in Sirmione, Sunday 7th July.
Before departure at 7.30am, you will discover the theme of the Marathon (participation is free and you do not have to register beforehand).
Time will pass quickly: the Sirmione 10% Photo Marathon will end at 8.30am, then you will have until 11.59pm on Monday 8th July to send your photograph.
The Jury will choose 4 photographs to complete the exhibition open at Palazzo Callas Exhibitions.
