On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Maria Callas, Lucilla Giagnoni relates the Divine with the myth of Medea, exploring their power as immortal queens, capable in the art of healing, but also characterized by ruinous and destructive traits that unite them.
The curtain opens on the opera. The full moon illuminates the temple. The fire of a sacrifice. A woman in white, mistletoe, music. She sings.
At the cinema, Medea-Maria’s burning eyes fill the screen: they have seen New York and Athens, Verona and Sirmione, Milan and Skorpios, Paris and Corinth.
At the theatre, an actress talks. The Greek and the barbarian mirror each other: divas, shining, mythical.
