Family, motherhood, nature and roots in the photography of Simona Ghizzoni
The resident photographer in Sirmione presents her project and talks with Francesca Roman, journalist

Simona Ghizzoni is the photographer resident in Sirmione, protagonist of the Sirmione Photo Residency 2023. She was selected thanks to Isola, the photographic project she created starting in 2020 on the Emilian and then Reatino Apennines.

For the new project, which will be created and dedicated to Sirmione starting from October 2023, Simona Ghizzoni will work in close collaboration with Andréa Holzherr and Ludovica Pellegatta of Magnum Photos, and will be dedicated to our city. On this occasion Simona Ghizzoni will present to the public her previous project, created in 2020 on the Apennines. A context where nature becomes the predominant setting of her shots, together with moments inspired by the intimacy of family life that open up a need for change in the direction of a respectful lifestyle, listening and in harmony with the world.
