April at the museum on Lake Garda

The Direzione regionale Musei Lombardia (Lombardy Regional Museums Directorate) is offering a month of April packed with events dedicated to the discovery and promotion of three extraordinary archaeological sites in the lower Garda area: the Grottoes of Catullus, the Scaligero Castle in Sirmione, and the Roman Villa in Desenzano del Garda.

Through guided tours and itineraries, the public will be able to learn more about the history, art, and landscape of places that testify to the millennia-old human presence on the lakeshore.

The program:

• Saturday 4th April |  11 am
  Sunday 5th and Monday 6thApril | 3.30 pm
  Villa Romana
  GUIDED TOURS
  A comprehensive guided tour of the archaeological area to discover the history of the Roman villa, once directly overlooking the lake.
• Sunday 5th April (Easter)
  Grotte di Catullo, Castello Scaligero e Villa Romana
  #DOMENICALMUSEO
  As every first Sunday of the month, entry to all state museums will be free.

• Monday 6th April (Easter Monday)
  Castello Scaligero e Grotte di Catullo e Villa Romana
  SPECIAL OPENINGS
  During Easter Monday, cultural Museum on Lake Garda will be open on an extraordinary basis
• Saturday 11th April, 3.30 pm
  Grotte di Catullo
  A magnificent guided tour led by the Grottoes of Catullus staff in the nice setting of the Sirmione archaeological park.

  Villa Romana di Desenzano del Garda
  HIDDEN WATERFRONT, presentation of the works
  Final meeting of the interesting workshop dedicated to the Roman Villa of Desenzano del Garda, where all the innovative ideas for further enhancing our prestigious archaeological site on Lake Garda will be revealed.

  The Museum Pass initiative for families with children is back. A time for educational and fun drawing activities, to train our eyes to capture all the details!

  On the occasion of the National Holiday on April 25th, the Garda Museums offer free admission for a day dedicated to our cultural heritage.
