Solidarity Watermelon: a success that quenches thirst and builds

From 3T Project's watermelons, a better future for Todomé

Published on : 12 August 2025

The 2025 edition of the Anguria Solidale “Solidarity Watermelon Days” was a resounding success, with an extraordinary turnout of residents and supporters. The watermelons, kindly provided by a group of volunteers from Reggio Emilia, were distributed during a week of events and conviviality, transforming every slice into a concrete gesture of solidarity.

The Giornate dell’Anguria Solidale support solidarity projects led by the volunteers of the Progetto 3T, who have been working for years to improve living conditions in African communities in need. The funds raised will go towards water and school infrastructure projects in Africa, providing clean water, new classrooms, and improved living conditions to the communities of Todomé, Togo, and surrounding villages.

This initiative demonstrates how, even in the height of summer, solidarity can be fresh, sweet, and capable of changing the world.
