DIALOGUES BETWEEN MAN AND NATURE

Man and nature have always been in a complex relationship, made of harmony and conflict. In this context, Sirmione becomes an ideal stage to visually explore the connections between humans and the world around them. The Sirmione Photo Marathon 2024 invites participants to capture these interactions in four different “dialogues”, each with a particular nuance.

• Theme 1: PEACE IN CHAOS

The search for peace and serenity in a chaotic and frenetic world.
Photographers are invited to tell how the nature and architecture of Sirmione offer refuge from the frenzy of modern life. Whether it is a quiet corner in the historic streets, a boat stopped on the water or a person immersed in their thoughts, the goal is to identify moments of peace in a dynamic environment.

• Theme 2: BODIES IN SYMBIOSIS

The relationship between the human body and the natural environment.
This theme invites you to explore how people move, interact and merge with the surrounding natural or urban environment. Photographs must investigate the connection between bodies (human or even statues, works of art) and the landscape, be it, for example, a simple contact with the water of the lake, the trampling of a historic road, or the shadow cast by a tree on a person.
