Sirmione at the top of quality of life: excellence among the municipalities of Brescia
The annual research of the Giornale di Brescia rewards our peninsula. Sustainability, safety and per capita income among the indicators
The annual “Quality of Life” survey by the Giornale di Brescia reaches its eleventh edition and confirms Sirmione as one of the most liveable municipalities in the province. The survey, which evaluates the level of well-being and standard of living of the population, is based on a detailed analysis of numerous economic, social, environmental and cultural indicators. The aim is to provide a complete overview of the liveability in the different areas of the province.
Sirmione ranked second among the municipalities with more than 8,000 inhabitants, immediately after Rodengo Saiano. This recognition confirms the town on Lake Garda as one of the most sought-after, not only for its natural and cultural beauty, but also for its high standard of living.
The ranking of municipalities was drawn up based on 7 key indicators:
- Dynamics of the resident population (percentage balance of the population 2012-2024 as of January 1)
- Land consumption (percentage share of the municipal surface consumed as of December 2022)
- Dynamics of businesses (percentage balance of registered businesses 2019-2023)
- Average per capita income (amount declared/residents, a.y. 2022)
- Accessibility to transport networks (total minutes needed to reach the three transport networks by private vehicle: motorway, railway, airport, starting from the municipality’s town hall)
- Active associations (total associations registered in the RUNTS, ASD-SSD, civil protection registers per 1000 inhabitants)
- General crime (total crimes reported per 1000 inhabitants in 2023)
It is not only Sirmione that shines among the municipalities of the Brescia shore of Lake Garda. Other lakeside locations also achieve excellent results in the Giornale di Brescia ranking. Padenghe sul Garda takes first place in the category of municipalities with a population between 4,000 and 8,000 inhabitants, while Moniga del Garda dominates among the municipalities with between 2,000 and 4,000 inhabitants. Finally, Soiano del Lago takes second place among the municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants.
