On Thursday, December 11, the PalaSport in Sirmione hosted the Galà dello Sport 2025, turning the evening into a grand tribute to both local and national sports. The event brought together athletes, sports clubs, and enthusiasts in a true celebration of the sporting community.

The evening’s guests of honor included gymnast Alice Taglietti, Paralympic swimmer Mattia Tononi, Union Brescia president Giuseppe Pasini, international volleyball coach Alessandra Campedelli, Germani Basket basketball player David Cournooh, and volleyball player Manuele Lucconi from Consoli Sferc. Through stories of dedication, commitment, and passion, these champions shared their experiences of success and challenges, demonstrating how sport can be an extraordinary metaphor for life.

Adding even more excitement to the evening was a performance by freestyle football champion Gunther Celli. The event’s hostess was former professional tennis player Susanna Giovanardi.

The highlight of the evening was the awarding of athletes and Sirmione sports clubs that stood out for their achievements, commitment, and passion:

Lorenzo Loda, a bocce player who showed remarkable talent and consistency from a young age and now competes in the senior categories, achieving top-level results. Alongside him, Ernst Brunst, a ninety-year-old sailor deeply connected to the lake and his sailboat, who continues to sail the waters of Lake Garda whenever he can, keeping alive a lifelong passion.

An important recognition went to the women’s team of Tennis Club Brema of Sirmione, which completed an extraordinary season crowned by their prestigious promotion to Serie C, and to the young athletes of Sirmione Dance – U.S. Rovizza, who won the world championship title in the aerial hoop discipline, Under-18 group category, at the Pole & Aerial World Cup by U.N.A., one of the most prestigious competitions in the field.

Also among the awardees was Carmen Scianguetta, a swimmer from Polisportiva Bresciana No Frontiere and European SUDS (Sports Union for athletes with Down Syndrome) champion, whose motto, “If you can dream it, you can do it,” represents a true example of determination and inspiration for the entire sports community.

The evening concluded in a climate of great satisfaction, reaffirming that sport in Sirmione is not only about competition but also about culture, inclusion, and community. The event was organized by the Municipality of Sirmione with the support of Terme di Sirmione, Cantine del Lugana, and CARS – the Consortium of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs of Sirmione.
