The voice of nature in the shots of Magnum Photos
La galleria fotografica dell'inaugurazione della mostra If trees could speak

“[…] We are still connected, every breath we take is shared with them, our lives are intertwined through invisible exchanges of air, water, and time.”
With these words, Andréa Holzherr introduces us to If trees could speak, the exhibition opening on Friday, March 20th at Palazzo Callas Exhibitions. The images of forty leading Magnum Photos photographers offer the public the opportunity to reflect on the vital bond between humanity and nature, reminding us that trees are not just a backdrop, but silent witnesses to our own history.
The inauguration, which saw the participation of Luisa Lavelli, Mayor of Sirmione, Riccardo Genovesi, Councilor for Tourism, and Andréa Holzherr, Global Cultural Director of Magnum Photos, ushered in an unprecedented visual experience, where photography does not end with the gaze: printed on plantable paper, the images will return to the earth to transform into roots and leaves. A journey through the breath of the world that will remain open to visitors until Sunday, July 12, 2026.
