Lake Garda Seabed Cleanup with WWF Divers
An important environmental protection initiative aimed at contributing to the protection of Lake Garda’s seabed and promoting awareness of the importance of respecting the lake environment.
The operation is scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, in the area in front of the Monte Baldo car park in Sirmione.
During the morning, qualified divers from affiliated diving associations, including WWF Sub groups and local ASD diving clubs, will conduct targeted dives to recover debris from the seabed.
The operations will focus on recovering clay pigeon shooting targets, previously mapped and located using the Zeno underwater robot, developed by the University of Pisa. The identified materials will be transported to shore by the divers and subsequently collected on land.
Sirmione Servizi will be involved in the management of recovered waste, taking care of the collection and disposal of materials, thus ensuring proper management of any special or bulky waste.
The event therefore represents a concrete moment of commitment to protecting Lake Garda, made possible thanks to the collaboration between institutions, the scientific community, and volunteers.
