"Everyone has a story and we are interested in all of them"
The World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is celebrated all over the world on 8th May.
The date was established on the anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Red Cross, Henry Dunant, to remember and celebrate the relief work that millions of volunteers around the world carry out every day.
The Municipality of Sirmione, which has always been attentive to the world of volunteering, solidarity and sensitive to the various situations of difficulty and weakness, supports the daily and invaluable work of the Red Cross, operators and volunteers. without forgetting the many social-welfare activities throughout the national territory.
As underlined by Francesco Rocca, President of the Italian Red Cross and of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
“This is why, despite the many ongoing challenges, it is necessary and important to celebrate this extraordinary and constant example of Humanity. Because every single person has a story and we are truly interested in all of them.“
