Fragile
In front of the Scaligero Castle, a new work by Gianus: a cry for help from children, innocent victims

The mysterious artistic collective Gianus has once again chosen Sirmione for a new artistic project that, as is typical of the collective’s practice, stimulates reflection on highly topical and socially important issues.
The work appeared on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Vicolo Bisse and was accompanied by a statement from the collective, which we quote here:
“The child is the image of the innocent victims of conflict, of those who lack the words to ask for help. The empty sign is not a lack, but a space to be filled with one’s own conscience… Every day we read about thousands of children dying of hunger, thirst, war, and violence. The youngest have no say in the matter: they are fragile.
“Fragile” is the title of the canvas… how faint and silent is the cry for help that we often don’t hear when it’s shouted…
The sign exists, but we can’t see it… it no longer knows what to write or what we want to see written…”
Sirmione continues to stand out as a highly attractive location for public art projects that transcend traditional exhibition spaces and engage with people directly in urban spaces.
This interest isn’t new: for many years, Sirmione has supported public art with the Pietra &Co. exhibition, which has brought to the city interventions that combine artistic research and dialogue with the landscape and the community. A living art that questions, provokes, and intertwines with the history and daily life of the place, transforming Sirmione into a permanent laboratory of shared creativity.
