Beaches are places where we can be ourselves, revealing our humanity in unique and surprising ways. Martin Parr began photographing beaches in the 1970s in the UK and then around the world, offering a unique insight into the customs and cultures of different countries, revealing bizarre and bizarre behaviour. This special edition of LIFE ‘S A BEACH, enriched by photographs taken in Sirmione and Lake Garda, presents us with Martin Parr at his best, with his funny clichés and hilarious images of him.
Martin Parr is one of the most important British photographers of his generation, with over 100 books published and edited by himself. He is a member of the Magnum agency, of which he was also president.
