Chronicle of a photographic adventure

A photographic adventure through the folds of time and the reflections of water

They defied the rain, the wind and the themes proposed by the jury; with backpacks on their shoulders and cameras clutched in their hands, dozens of young people embarked on a real photographic adventure, transforming Sirmione into a place to explore, observe and tell.

It happened on Sunday 13 April, on the occasion of the first edition of the TEENS Photo Marathon, which saw as protagonists children, girls and boys ready to get involved, armed with cameras, smartphones and a great deal of creativity.

The participants faced two themes that were as evocative as they were stimulating.
The first, Stone Chronicles, transformed them into explorers of time, in search of the secrets hidden between the walls and architectural details of the village. Cracks, engravings, windows, doors and sculptures became pages of an imaginary diary that tells ancient stories, between knights and mysteries carved in stone.

The second theme, Water Stories, invited them to become narrators of lake legends, with Lake Garda as the magical protagonist. Reflections, waves, boats and piers were observed with new eyes, looking for the echo of a story suspended between reality and fantasy in every shot.

Despite the terrible weather conditions, the participants threw themselves into the challenge with enthusiasm, a sign that photography, when it meets imagination, can overcome any obstacle. An opportunity to look at familiar places with different eyes, reinterpreting them with sensitivity and imagination.

THE THEMES OF THE TEENS PHOTO MARATHON

Theme 1: STONE CHRONICLES

Imagine you are an explorer who has just found a secret diary.
Each page tells stories of stones: pebbles that have seen the footprints of knights, walls that have listened to ancient whispers and carved details that hide mysteries.

Your mission? To photograph the secrets that these stones hold. Look for the cracks, engravings, windows, doors, walls, buildings, paintings and sculptures that bear witness to the history of Sirmione: they are the protagonists of your fantastic chronicle.

Theme 2: WATER STORIES

You are the narrator of a legend of water. Lake Garda calls you, with its reflections that seem like magic mirrors and the light waves that tell stories and legends of sailors, fish and forgotten storms.

Look carefully: among the moored boats, the details of the piers and the changing colour of the water you will find the fragments of the story. Each photo is a chapter of the story that connects the water to the heart of Sirmione.
