Connections
The photographic project that reveals the contemporary face of Sirmione
The first installation of the Connections project was disassembled due to the severe thunderstorms at the end of July which compromised its stability. Starting from Monday 8 August, the photographic project has been completely reassembled in a different form through a new layout and can be visited again.
Anyone who sees the great portraits proposed by Connections will be led to create a new connection with Sirmione, its history, its nature, its landscape and above all with all those who make this community alive and vital, which has its roots in history and it is renewed every day in the name of tourist hospitality.
Walking through the more than 100 portraits we reflect ourselves in these great faces, recognizing ourselves as an essential part of the work itself and we feel that people and their relationships are the most authentic center of the world.
The portraits made by Arianna Bonaita, Eleonora Pecoraro, Davide Rancan, Federica Scaroni and Francesca Vezzoli are the result of encounters, mostly random, between the streets and places of Sirmione.
A close dialogue, conducted on the thread of images, which well represent the personalities, origins and aspirations captured by the photographs. Connections thus reveals the contemporary face of Sirmione: an open community, where each image tells a story and speaks to us of welcome, openness and hospitality. And the special human, artistic and natural connections that Sirmione activates are revealed. Connections represents the “second act” of “La Mostra con il Panorama più bello del Mondo”, the multi-year “public art” project created in Punta Grò, a large green park directly on the lake, 5 kilometers from the historic center, where the he experience of encountering works of art is a new and exciting value and stimulates positive interactions between people, art, nature and landscape.
Connections consists of over 100 portraits, selected from around 3,000 shots, of people from more than 25 different countries around the world.
