World War I (July 28, 1914 – November 11, 1918) is also known as “Great War<\/strong>”
\nItaly’s participation began on May 24, 1915, about ten months after the start of the conflict.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the centenary on RAI Cultura<\/strong><\/a> numerous films, testimonies, videos and photos that tell those years were collected.<\/p>\n

It was a “Great” war not only for the extension of the fronts and for the number of states involved: never before had there been so many soldiers in the trenches, so many weapons in armies, so many industries committed to supporting the war effort.
\nAnd besides, the world came from a hundred years of “almost peace”.<\/p>\n
