For the third consecutive year<\/strong>, Sirmione confirms its position among the Italian excellences in environmental protection and sustainable management of the territory, obtaining the Blue Flag 2025<\/strong>, the prestigious international recognition awarded by the FEE<\/strong>,\u00a0Foundation for Environmental Education<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The title was also awarded this year to Giamaica Beach<\/strong> (Lido delle Grotte), one of the most evocative and representative places in the territory.<\/p>\n The official award ceremony took place on Tuesday 13 May<\/strong> in Rome, at the Italian headquarters of the FEE. The certification, which recognizes the constant commitment of the municipal administration to the protection and enhancement of the environment, was collected by the Mayor of Sirmione, Luisa Lavelli<\/strong>. Two other towns on Lake Garda obtained the recognition in Lombardy: Toscolano Maderno <\/strong>and Gardone Riviera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Water and beach quality<\/strong>, sustainable land management practices<\/strong> with particular attention to accessibility for people<\/strong> with disabilities and bathing<\/strong> safety are the basis for the assignment of the Blue Flag. To these parameters are added others evaluated rigorously and with certified and transparent procedures: environmental education, waste and wastewater management, energy saving, sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n This recognition, obtained also thanks to the coordination of Luca Fila<\/strong> and the support of the Comunit\u00e0 del Garda<\/strong>, enhances Sirmione\u2019s tourist offer, attesting to the community\u2019s commitment to the responsible management of the coast and the environment.<\/p>\n The awarding of this prestigious environmental certification would not be possible without the active participation and indispensable support of the Direzione Regionale Musei Lombardia<\/strong> and the Directorate of the archaeological area of \u200b\u200bthe Grotte di Catullo<\/strong>, as well as the manager of the Lido delle Grotte and the municipal offices. Thanks also go to all those who every year implement environmental education projects and activities, including the Trebeschi Institute<\/strong>, Sirmione Servizi<\/strong> and the local associations.<\/p>\n The FEE<\/strong>, recognized by UNESCO as a world leader in environmental education and sustainable development, awards the Blue Flag award<\/strong><\/a> every year in 49 countries around the world.
