A few days of rain whilst on holiday is acceptable, but bad weather when you have children can be a real nuisance!<\/p>\n

You probably won’t be able to do many of the activities around Lake Garda that would normally keep you busy, but you don’t necessarily have to lock yourself in your hotel or flat.<\/p>\n

Explore under the sea: Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium<\/h2>\n

The Sea Life Aquarium in Castelnuovo del Garda can be visited with a separate ticket and entrance to Gardaland.\u00a0 It is a gigantic interactive aquarium<\/strong> where it is possible to admire over 5,000 aquatic creatures through portholes and child-sized domes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With 40 themed tanks<\/strong>, the park allows you to literally walk among sharks thanks to an amazing transparent ocean tunnel<\/strong> and, in the interactive tank, to touch a real shark egg. Why not enjoy an evening\u2019s entertainment at the court of King Astolfo?\u00a0 During the tournament four knights<\/strong> compete to decide who will win the hand of the beautiful Princess Esmeralda: at Medieval Times<\/strong> in Fossalta di Lazise it is possible to participate in a themed dinner party that takes place in an indoor arena<\/strong>, an equestrian field with huge bleachers<\/strong> divided into four sectors of different colours and a medieval setting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Reptiland: the Natural Science Gallery and Herpetological Centre in Riva del Garda<\/h2>\n

Reptiland can be found opposite the MAG in Riva del Garda.\u00a0 It is a natural science gallery and herpetological centre<\/strong> housing a living collection of poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, spiders and insects,<\/strong> including some of the most beautiful butterflies<\/strong> in existence.<\/p>\n

Wandering around the display cases, children and adults can learn about these curious species from all over the world<\/strong> and enjoy this “lost world”, which can also be explored on a guided tour (booking required) with experts.<\/p>\n

Muse in Trento, having fun at the science museum<\/h2>\n

The city of Trento\u2019s Science Museum<\/strong> is a Trentino cultural centre dedicated to science and it is particularly suitable for children and families. It offers an experience that is not only educational but also fun<\/strong>: it has spaces and routes that develop various scientific themes, from dinosaurs to the composition of glaciers<\/strong>, and is distributed over six floors and a terrace.<\/p>\n

Inside the Muse you can take part in workshops<\/strong> to try out the science for yourself, and there is also Maxi Ooh!<\/strong>, an area designed for children aged 0 to 5.<\/p>\n

The Children’s Museum in Verona, science and STEAM<\/h2>\n

This is the first children’s museum in north-eastern Italy<\/strong>: the aim of its founders was to set up a Children’s Museum in Verona, where children from 0 to 12 years<\/strong> of age can enjoy visual, sensorial, playful and emotional experiences<\/strong> to learn about the world and explore everything related to the STEAM<\/strong> (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) theme.<\/p>\n

The museum is divided into many “zones” including the ThinkLab<\/strong>, a space for manual workshops, the 0-3 zone<\/strong> for very young children and “Mungi la Mucca” (milk the cow), to find out where milk and cheese come from.<\/p>\n
